2 New Deaths, 100 Coronavirus Cases Since Last Week In Glenview
There have been 3,357 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.
GLENVIEW, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Glenview has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 93 people have died due to COVID-19 in Glenview since April 7. That marks two new deaths since Patch's last update on Jan. 14. For further comparison, there were two new deaths between Jan. 7-14. The most deaths in a single day since the pandemic began was four on April 14 and Dec. 11.
As of Thursday, there have been 3,357 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 100 cases since Jan. 14. For further comparison, there were 119 new cases between Jan. 7-14. These numbers indicate a -17.8 percent change in confirmed cases over the last 14 days.

In addition, 178,035 people have been tested across zip codes 60016, 60025, 60026, 60029 and 60062, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. That number represents an increase of 8,129 tests since Jan. 14. For further comparison, there was an increase of 6,327 tests between Jan. 7-14.

According to the medical examiner, the age breakdown for the 93 deaths are: 80+ (64), 70-79 (18) 60-69 (7), 50-59 (3) and 40-49 (1).
Cook County's COVID-19 Restrictions Caused By Lack Of Empty Beds
As of Thursday, the Cook County Department of Health is reporting 195,707 confirmed cases and 3,657 deaths since the pandemic began. That marks an increase of 6,387 cases and 102 deaths since Patch's last update on Jan. 14. For further comparison, there was an increase of 7,964 cases and 116 deaths between Jan. 7-14. These numbers include all confirmed and probable cases under the jurisdiction of the Cook County Department of Public Health (excludes Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie, and Stickney Township).
The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 22,699 confirmed cases in Cook County long-term facilities and 3,176 deaths. That marks an increase of 717 cases and 79 deaths since Jan. 14. For comparison, there was an increase of 555 cases and 86 deaths between Jan. 7-14. In the past, the IDPH has twice temporarily removed some cases and deaths since Patch has been tracking these numbers, before including them back in at a later date.

- Emerald Place Memory Care — 10 cases, 0 deaths (closed)/11 cases, 2 deaths (open)
- Presence Maryhaven — 13 cases, 4 deaths (closed)/16 cases, 2 deaths (open)
- Vi at The Glen — 27 cases, 4 deaths
These numbers include both residents and employees of the long-term care facilities.
