2 New Deaths, 123 Coronavirus Cases Since Last Week In Glenview

There have been 3,480 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.

GLENVIEW, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Glenview has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 95 people have died due to COVID-19 in Glenview since April 7, 2020. That marks two new deaths since Patch's last update on Jan. 21. For further comparison, there were also two new deaths between Jan. 14-21. The most deaths in a single day since the pandemic began was four on April 14 and Dec. 11.

As of Friday, there have been 3,480 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 123 cases since Jan. 21. For further comparison, there were 100 new cases between Jan. 14-21. These numbers indicate a -34 percent change in confirmed cases over the last 14 days.

In addition, 186,257 people have been tested across zip codes 60016, 60025, 60026, 60029 and 60062, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. That number represents an increase of 8,222 tests since Jan. 21. For further comparison, there was an increase of 8,129 tests between Jan. 14-21.

According to the medical examiner, the age breakdown for the 95 deaths are: 80+ (65), 70-79 (19) 60-69 (7), 50-59 (3) and 40-49 (1).


Coronavirus Vaccine Registration Opens For Glenview Residents


As of Friday, the Cook County Department of Health is reporting 201,028 confirmed cases and 3,749 deaths since the pandemic began. That marks an increase of 5,321 cases and 92 deaths since Patch's last update on Jan. 21. For further comparison, there was an increase of 6,387 cases and 102 deaths between Jan. 14-21. These numbers include all confirmed and probable cases under the jurisdiction of the Cook County Department of Public Health (excludes Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie, and Stickney Township).

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 23,212 confirmed cases in Cook County long-term facilities and 3,226 deaths. That marks an increase of 513 cases and 50 deaths since Jan. 21. For comparison, there was an increase of 513 cases and 79 deaths between 14-21. In the past, the IDPH has twice temporarily removed some cases and deaths since Patch has been tracking these numbers, before including them back in at a later date.

  • Emerald Place Memory Care — 10 cases, 0 deaths (closed)/11 cases, 2 deaths (open)
  • Presence Maryhaven — 13 cases, 4 deaths (closed)/16 cases, 2 deaths (open)
  • Vi at The Glen — 27 cases, 4 deaths

These numbers include both residents and employees of the long-term care facilities.
