We will continue to monitor the child throughout the school day. We also have made social workers available to students who may have witnessed the accident to ensure they also are provided proper support.
While police are continuing to investigate the accident, I wanted to reach out to all of our District 34 families and share some important reminders about both bike and driver safety when in school zones.
Whenever students are in session, it is important that both pedestrians and drivers pay careful attention to their surroundings and exercise additional caution given how much activity occurs near and around each of our schools. When riding your bike, please also make sure to wear a helmet and walk your bike through all intersections.
Thank you for your support as a school community to help ensure the safety of all of our students, which remains our top priority as a district.
Sincerely,
Frank Rottman
Pleasant Ridge Principal
