$43K Goes Missing From Residence After Surprise Visit: Blotter
A resident said money was stolen after two men claiming a water line was broken in the area were let in: Glenview Police Blotter.

VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

Joseph P. Simon, 38, of the 1400 block of Pleasant Lane, Glenview, is accused of violating an order of protection, and was arrested at 8:15 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Glenview Police Department following an investigation that began on Jan. 31. A bond hearing was held on Feb. 3.

- Buyan U. Erdenebayer, 26, of the 800 block of Mark Lane, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level above 0.08, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 2:49 a.m. Feb. 3 in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Erdenebayer was released on bond and assigned a court date of March 5 in Skokie.
- William Quiroga, 24, of the 2400 block of Indian Ridge Drive, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level over .08, reckless driving, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, speeding 26-34 miles per hour over the speed limit, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured vehicle, and was arrested at 8:57 p.m. Feb. 5 in the 1500 block 0f Waukegan Road. He was released after posting $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of Feb. 19.
- Charbel lsaac, 35, of the 9300 block of National Avenue, Morton Grove, is accused of driving under the influence, and was arrested at 5:09 p.m. Feb. 5 after a traffic stop stemming from a driving complaint in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released after posting $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Feb. 19.
ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER
Verna Tolentino, 40, of the 5800 block of Washington Street, Morton Grove, is accused of attempted first degree murder, child abandonment, and was arrested at 10:35 a.m. Feb. 4 at the Glenview Police Department. She attended a bond hearing on Feb. 5 in Skokie. Read more here.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
Munkhbayar Baatar, 30, of the 3700 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, is accused of having no driver's license, and was arrested at 8:22 p.m. Feb. 5 in the 600 block of Waukegan Road. He posted a $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of March 11.
FRAUD
Marcelino Hernandez, 55, of the 2200 block of N Seminary Avenue, Woodstock, is accused of having a warrant stemming from a home repair fraud case, and was arrested at 10 a.m. Feb. 5 at McHenry County Jail. He was taken to a bond hearing on Feb. 6 in Skokie.
LEAVING THE SCENE OF A PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT
Kyung S. Lee, 71, of the 100o block of Castillian Court, Glenview, is accused of leaving the scene of a property damage accident and was arrested at 2:06 p.m. Feb. 7 after an investigation involving a motor vehicle accident. She was released on bond and assigned a court date of March 5 in Skokie.
INCIDENTS
THEFT
A resident in the 1000 block of Castillian Court reported at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 2 never receiving delivery of a PlayStation 5. Total reported loss is $531.24.
HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A West Lake Avenue resident called police at 5:54 p.m. Feb. 2 to report receiving threatening text messages from an unknown person.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 800 block of Wedel Lane reported at 6:39 p.m. Feb. 2 two males knocked on the door and told them a water line was broken in the area, and they needed to check the basement. The resident allowed them in the basement and the males left after no water was found in the basement. The resident noticed drawers open upstairs and numerous pieces of personal property stolen. Both men were described 5-feet-8, slender, wearing all black clothing and surgical masks. Neighbors reported two dark-colored SUV’s in front of the house during the incident. Total reported loss is $43,000.
FORGERY
An East Lake Avenue resident reported at 12:54 p.m. Feb. 5 someone altered the name and the amount of a check he had mailed. There is no reported loss.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Capital Drive called police at 3:13 p.m. Feb. 4 to report a male entered the store and concealed several types of medications in his jacket. He left the store without paying for the items. Total reported loss is $935.63.
BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
A resident in the 3200 block of Sanders Road reported at 6:51 p.m. Feb. 5 that someone entered their unlocked vehicle.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A Wildberry Lane resident called police at 10:49 a.m. Feb. 6 to report receiving an unwanted text message from an unknown person.
DISPUTE
An employee of a hotel in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 7:28 p.m. Feb. 6 to report someone tried renting a room, but their credit card was declined. A verbal argument ensued and the person was asked to leave.
