Commission Requests Additional Changes to Northbrook Walmart Proposal
Walmart's bid for a Northbrook superstore got harder Wednesday night, when Plan Commission members recommended against a Skokie Boulevard development.

In a special session of the Northbrook Plan Commission, commissioners said they could not recommend the zoning change that would be necessary for Walmart's current proposal for a superstore at 1000 Skokie Blvd.
Instead, commissioners voted to host another hearing on Dec. 2 at Northbrook Junior High, at which point the applicant can bring forth a revised proposal for a Walmart store.
Plan Commission president Marcia Franklin said the applicant has a right not to change their proposal, at which point the commission will draft a formal resolution to recommend for or against the zoning change.
