Coronavirus: Loyola Academy Provides Meals To Glenview Police

Loyola Academy's President's Leadership Council helped to provide meals to several Chicago-area police departments, including Glenview.

GLENVIEW, IL — In recognition of Holy Week, Loyola Academy's President's Leadership Council performed its own fundraising effort to provide meals to a number of Chicago-area first responders, including the Glenview Police Department. Efforts from the PLC COVID-19 Support Initiative raised approximately $6,000 to support first responders, essential workers and families in need during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a news release from the Loyola Acacemy.

In addition to Glenview, alumni Pat Fowler, owner of Candelite Chicago and Firehouse Grill, and Michael Salvatore, owner of Heritage Bicycles, provided pizza, donuts and coffee for the Chicago Police Department District 16, Evanston Police Department and Wilmette Police Department. Fowler also provided pizzas for the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

"The executive board was excited to lead the PLC COVID-19 Support Initiative, especially as w3e were heading into the holiest week of the year," PLC Executive Board President Saly Sebastian said in a news release. "It has been truly incredible to see the outpouring of support which enabled us to surpass our goal in just a few short days. We are so grateful to the Loyola Academy family and have never been more proud to be Ramblers."
