District 34 Considering $300K Safety Upgrades
Among the proposed upgrades include installing video cameras in Glenview's elementary schools.

Glenview School District 34 is considering a $300,000 safety upgrade that would include installing video cameras and locks that allow teachers to lock classrooms from the inside, among other measures, Chicago Tribune reported.
The most expensive upgrades would be $114,000 for door hardware that allows doors to be locked from the inside, two-way closed-channel radios to replace walkie-talkies and video cameras; if the board approves the plan during the Aug. 12 meeting, the plan would be implemented over the next two years, the newspaper reported.
