GLENVIEW NEXT Files Nominating Petitions

On Monday, December 14 at 8:30 AM, the GLENVIEW NEXT Party formally submitted the required paperwork to the Glenview Village Clerk to get its three Village trustee candidates – Paul Brancky, Sheri Latash, and Cathy Wilson – on the ballot for the upcoming Consolidated Election. This spring, Glenview voters will select a new Village President, three new Village trustees, and well as trustees for the Library, Park District, Township, and various school boards. Early voting begins on March 22 and the last day to vote is April 6, 2021.

Over the past few months, the GLENVIEW NEXT Party has gathered almost 600 signatures of registered voters in Glenview, far in excess of the 179 required by state law. When asked about the signatures, candidate Paul Brancky said, “We want to thank everyone who circulated petitions for us and to the nearly 600 voters who signed.” He continued, “It was a team effort and went very smoothly. We thought the pandemic would impact getting signatures, but that didn’t happen. Our numbers show that people were very responsive.”

Candidate Sheri Latash added, “The best part of gathering the signatures was getting to talk to fellow residents and listen to what they had to say. Every conversation helped us better understand their concerns and ultimately, this will make us better trustees. When asked about the response from voters who signed the petitions, candidate Cathy Wilson said, “People are excited to have a choice on the ballot in the upcoming election. For too long, that hasn’t been an option. There are many issues impacting daily life in Glenview such as taxes, development, and COVID-19 that people want to talk about. We will help make these discussions happen.”
