Glenview Parks Volunteer Wins Statewide Award
Beryl Bills has been named the Illinois Association of Park Districts' Outstanding Citizen Volunteer of the Year

The following is from the Glenview Park District:
Beryl Bills has been named the IAPD (Illinois Association of Park Districts) Outstanding Citizen Volunteer of the Year.
Beryl has been the longest serving Treasurer of the Grove Heritage Association, with a tenure of over twenty years.

GHA has generated tens of millions of dollars to benefit The Grove National Historic Landmark through land acquisition and stewardship, grants, special events and membership initiatives.
During her tenure and in partnership with the Glenview Park District the following goals have been realized at The Grove site:

* Construction of numerous buildings, facilities and structures, including an Indian Lodge, Blacksmith Shop, Archives Building, Maintenance Facility, Wetland Greenhouse, Redfield Carriage House and Pavilion.
* Additional land acquisition including the 40-acre MacArthur parcel and 12.5 acres from the Redemptorist Fathers.
* Beryl has most recently chaired two very successful fundraising events that brought in nearly $15,000 to fund additional land acquisition and to help realize program goals for The Grove.
* In addition, Beryl worked tirelessly to produce a marvelous educational video about The Grove to be used for fundraising, marketing and promotional purposes.
The Glenview Park District is fortunate to have a dedicated individual like Beryl Bills on the Grove Heritage Association Board and she is very deserving of the IAPD Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award. Congratulations, Beryl!
