Glenview School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Glenview is August 23 for grades 1-8, August 24-25 for kindergarten and September 5 for early childhood. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. Glenview School District 34 has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/23: First Day for Students (Grades 1-8)
• 8/24: First Day for Kindergarten (Last Name Starts with A–L)
• 8/25: First Day for Kindergarten (Last Name Starts with M–Z)
• 8/28: All Kindergarten Students in Attendance

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First Day for Early Childhood Students
• 9/21: No School

October

• 10/20: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences, Support Staff Institute)

November

• 11/7: No School for Students (Institute Day)
• 11/22: No School for Students (Institute Day for staff without 6 conference hours)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)

February

• 2/19: No School (President's Day)
• 2/20: No School for Students (Institute Day)

March

• 3/2: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/1: Last Day for Early Childhood Students
• 6/5: Last Scheduled Day for Students (Grades K-7 and Staff)
• 6/6 - 6/12: Possible Emergency Days
