Glenview Schools Get $2.7M In Coronavirus Relief Funding
Illinois public school districts will split about $2.25 billion in federal coronavirus relief, according to state officials.
GLENVIEW, IL — The three main public school districts in Glenview, and one in nearby Wilmette that includes a Glenview school, are slated to receive more than $2.7 million in grants from the second coronavirus-relief package approved last month by federal lawmakers.
That $900 billion relief package included about $2.25 billion for Illinois public school districts, more than four times the amount they received from the first federal relief package, according to Carmen Ayala, the state’s superintendent of education.
Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 is set to receive $256,829, while Northfield Township High School District 225 (includes Glenbrook South) will get $832,633, and Glenview School District 34 is slated to receive $1,424,445. Avoca School District 34, which is based in Wilmette and includes Glenview's Avoca West Elementary School, will net $201,046.
