
Extended labor negotiations at Glenview School District 34 caused uncertainty that slowed some projects, but implementation of a new state curriculum proceeded full-speed, according to Mike Nicholsonsaid, superintendent of District 34 in a “State of the District” presentation, Chicago Tribune reported.
Among the challenges of aligning lessons plans with the Common Core State Standards, the “biggest challenge may have been the uncertainty around negotiations,” he told the newspaper. “When those were underway, it was difficult to plan for the future.”
