Glenview Titan Swimmers Raise Thousands for Sarcoma Research
The Ted Mullin "Leave it in the Pool" relay hour benefitted the University of Chicago Medicine.

GLENVIEW, IL - Swimmers for the Glenview Titan Aquatic Club raised more than $4,500 for sarcoma cancer research earlier this month during the Ted Mullin “Leave it in the Pool” Hour of Power Relay charitable event.
According to the Glenview Park District, GTAC swimmers of all ages and levels participated in a one-hour, leave-it-in-the-pool practice consisting of continuous relays, using any stroke. The relay fosters teamwork through its objective of keeping all lanes on the same lap. Its part of a nationwide event in which thousands of swimmers across the country and the world unite in the water at the same time.
The fundraiser supports the Ted Mullin Fund, named for a young man who swam on teams in the north suburbs and lost his life to sarcoma, a rare form of cancer of connective tissues.
Since 2006, the Hour of Power has been supported by more than 160 swim teams across the country, including Glenbrook South High School. Money raised acts as seed funding for the University of Chicago Medicine pediatric sarcoma research program.
