Glenview Trustee Seat Opens Up In May Following Election Results
The vacancy comes as a result of current Trustee Mike Jenny being sworn in as Village President on May 4.

GLENVIEW, IL — It's been a little over a week since the Consolidated Election resulted in some changes on the Glenview Village Board, but one seat will soon become vacant. When current Trustee Mike Jenny is sworn in as Village President on May 4 as a result of an uncontested race for that position, a two-year term for his seat will become available.
As governed by the Illinois Municipal Code, municipal vacancies in Glenview are filled by the appointment of the Village President with the advice and consent of the Village Board.
On April 6, the Unite Glenview slate of candidates in Timothy Doron, Gina DeBoni and Adam Sidoti won four-year seats on the Glenview Village Board. Jenny was also endorsed by Unite Glenview.

The Glenview Next Party-endorsed slate of candidates — Catherine Wilson, Sheri Latash and Paul Brancky — came up short in their election bids for Village Board seats.
"We’re already thinking about 2023 and the three trustees seats that will be on the ballot," Wilson told Patch. "If you are interested in being involved or running as a candidate, contact us at GlenviewNext.org."
To qualify as a candidate for the appointment of the soon-to-be open Village Board seat, the applicant must meet the eligibility requirements of the Illinois Municipal Code for the position of Village Trustee, including being a registered voter in Glenview and a Glenview resident for at least one year.
Those interested are asked to submit a statement of interest and a resume, according to a news release from the Village of Glenview. The submission should explain why the applicant should be considered and what knowledge and skills they would bring as a Village Trustee.
Applications can be submitted by mail to the Village Manager’s Office, 2500 East Lake Ave., Glenview, IL 60026; by email to lisag@glenview.il.us or online at https://www.glenview.il.us/government/Pages/Commission-Volunteer-Form.aspx. The deadline is May 17.
Trustees serve at-large, meaning they each represent the entire community, not a specific area. The Village Board of Trustees regularly meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month, and members also participate in budget meetings, strategic planning and other workshops or public hearings as necessary. As representatives of the community, Trustees also attend special events and other events of interest, according to the news release.
