Glenview's Family Video Closing Remaining Stores
Founded in Springfield, Family Video moved its headquarters to Glenview in 2003.

GLENVIEW, IL — In a sign of the times, Family Video, the last video rental chain in the United States is going out of business. After closing more than 200 locations last year, including one at 3124 Glenview Road, the company announced this week it will be closing the remaining 250 locations.
"Today, I have to make the difficult announcement that we are closing all Family Video locations," said Keith Hoogland, of Highland Ventures, which runs Family Video, in a social medial post. "The impact of COVID-19, not only in foot traffic, but also in the lack of movie releases, pushed us to the end of an era."
