Letter to the Residents of Glenview from Trustee Candidates
Candidates Gina DeBoni, Tim Doron, and Adam Sidoti issue statement: Do not close, transfer or sell Fire Station 13 during review period

March 1, 2021
Dear Residents of Glenview:
As Trustee Candidates for the Glenview Village Board, we urge the Village Board to take a
pause regarding Fire Station 13. Since the announcement on February 2nd to close Fire Station
13, we have heard from many residents about their concerns regarding this action. This decision
to close Fire Station 13 needs to be subjected to a further, more robust community outreach. The
Unite Glenview Trustee candidates request that the Village Board put a hold on any further
decisions regarding the future of Station 13 and listen to the citizens again. We strongly urge
that the Village Board not close, sell or transfer Fire Station 13 during this review period.
The Board of Trustees reviewed a very detailed consultant’s report, and we appreciate their
efforts undertaking this analysis. However, the current proposal of repurposing Fire Station 13
has an impact on the sense of security for those residents living in the station’s service area and
we understand those concerns. We need to ensure that those voices are heard and are provided a
chance to review the data that has been accumulated regarding service in that area.
Accordingly, and because of the magnitude and sensitivity of this issue, we ask that the Village
distill these very complicated issues for the public and find effective ways to engage the
residents in a meaningful dialogue before taking any further steps.
