New Coronavirus Cases Continue To Go Down In Glenview

There have been 3,646 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.

GLENVIEW, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Glenview has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 99 people have died due to COVID-19 in Glenview since April 7, 2020. That marks two new deaths since Patch's last update on Feb. 11. For further comparison, there were also two new deaths between Feb. 4-11. The most deaths in a single day since the pandemic began was four on April 14 and Dec. 11.

As of Friday, there have been 3,646 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 49 cases since Feb. 11. For further comparison, there were 58 new cases between Feb. 4-11 and 59 new cases between Jan. 28-Feb. 4. These numbers indicate a -30.5 percent change in confirmed cases over the last 14 days.

In addition, 203,101 people have been tested across zip codes 60016, 60025, 60026, 60029 and 60062, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. That number represents an increase of 6,679 tests since Feb. 11. For further comparison, there was an increase of 5,785 tests between Feb. 4-11.

According to the medical examiner, the age breakdown for the 99 deaths are: 80+ (67), 70-79 (19) 60-69 (7), 50-59 (5) and 40-49 (1).

As of Thursday, the Cook County Department of Health is reporting 210,249 confirmed cases and 3,933 deaths since the pandemic began. That marks an increase of 2,930 cases and 64 deaths since Patch's last update on Feb. 11. For further comparison, there was an increase of 3,049 cases and 65 deaths between Feb. 4-11. These numbers include all confirmed and probable cases under the jurisdiction of the Cook County Department of Public Health (excludes Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie, and Stickney Township).

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 23,758 confirmed cases in Cook County long-term facilities and 3,280 deaths. That marks an increase of 454 cases and 27 deaths since our last report on Feb. 11. In the past, the IDPH has temporarily removed some cases and deaths on three different occasions since Patch has been tracking these numbers, before including them back in at a later date.

  • Emerald Place Memory Care — 10 cases, 0 deaths (closed)/11 cases, 2 deaths (open)
  • Presence Maryhaven — 13 cases, 4 deaths (closed)/16 cases, 2 deaths (open)
  • Vi at The Glen — 27 cases, 4 deaths

These numbers include both residents and employees of the long-term care facilities.
