New Coronavirus Cases Continue Upward Trend In Glenview

There have been 3,771 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.

GLENVIEW, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Glenview has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 100 people have died due to COVID-19 in Glenview since April 7, 2020. The latest death happened on Feb. 27. The most deaths in a single day since the pandemic began was four on April 14 and Dec. 11.

As of Friday, there have been 3,771 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 73 cases since Feb. 25. For further comparison, there were 52 new cases between Feb. 18-25 and 49 new cases between Feb. 11-18. These numbers indicate a +27.4 percent change in confirmed cases over the last 14 days.

In addition, 214,761 208,439 people have been tested across zip codes 60016, 60025, 60026, 60029 and 60062, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. That number represents an increase of 6,322 tests since Feb. 25. For further comparison, there was an increase of 5,338 tests between Feb. 18-25.

According to the medical examiner, the age breakdown for the 100 deaths are: 80+ (67), 70-79 (20) 60-69 (7), 50-59 (5) and 40-49 (1).

As of Friday, the Cook County Department of Health is reporting 214,356 confirmed cases and 4,029 deaths since the pandemic began. That marks an increase of 2,181 cases and 37 deaths since Patch's last update on Feb. 25. For further comparison, there was an increase of 1,926 cases and 59 deaths between Feb. 18-25. These numbers include all confirmed and probable cases under the jurisdiction of the Cook County Department of Public Health (excludes Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie, and Stickney Township).

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 24,499 confirmed cases in Cook County long-term facilities and 3,356 deaths. That marks an increase of 455 cases and 52 deaths since our last report on Feb. 25. For further comparison, there was an increase of 286 cases and 24 deaths between Feb. 18-25. In the past, the IDPH has temporarily removed some cases and deaths on three different occasions since Patch has been tracking these numbers, before including them back in at a later date.

  • Presence Maryhaven — 13 cases, 4 deaths (closed)/16 cases, 2 deaths (open)
  • Vi at The Glen — 27 cases, 4 deaths

These numbers include both residents and employees of the long-term care facilities.
