New Coronavirus Cases Dip Below 100 For Last Week In Glenview
There have been 3,539 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.
GLENVIEW, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Glenview has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 95 people have died due to COVID-19 in Glenview since April 7, 2020. That marks no new deaths since Patch's last update on Jan. 28. For further comparison, there were two new deaths between Jan 21-28. The most deaths in a single day since the pandemic began was four on April 14 and Dec. 11.
As of Friday, there have been 3,539 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 59 cases since Jan. 28. For further comparison, there were 123 new cases between Jan. 21-28 and 100 new cases between Jan. 14-21. These numbers indicate a -24.9 percent change in confirmed cases over the last 14 days.

In addition, 190,637 people have been tested across zip codes 60016, 60025, 60026, 60029 and 60062, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. That number represents an increase of 4,380 tests since Jan. 28. For further comparison, there was an increase of 8,222 tests between Jan. 21-28.

According to the medical examiner, the age breakdown for the 95 deaths are: 80+ (65), 70-79 (19) 60-69 (7), 50-59 (3) and 40-49 (1).
Glenview Returns To Phase 4 Of Restore Illinois: What's New?
As of Friday, the Cook County Department of Health is reporting 204,270 confirmed cases and 3,804 deaths since the pandemic began. That marks an increase of 3,242 cases and 55 deaths since Patch's last update on Jan. 28. For further comparison, there was an increase of 5,321 cases and 92 deaths between Jan. 21-28. These numbers include all confirmed and probable cases under the jurisdiction of the Cook County Department of Public Health (excludes Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie, and Stickney Township).
The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 23,127 confirmed cases in Cook County long-term facilities and 3,246 deaths. That marks a decrease of 85 cases from what Patch had reported on Jan. 28. In the past, the IDPH has twice temporarily removed some cases and deaths since Patch has been tracking these numbers, before including them back in at a later date. The number of deaths in these facilities increased by 20 since our last report. For comparison, there was an increase of 513 cases and 50 deaths between Jan. 21-28.

- Presence Maryhaven — 13 cases, 4 deaths (closed)/16 cases, 2 deaths (open)
- Vi at The Glen — 27 cases, 4 deaths
These numbers include both residents and employees of the long-term care facilities.
