Phone Scammers Target Glenview Residents
The following information was provided by the Glenview Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate a conviction.

Suspicious Incident
On Sept. 10, a resident on the 600 block of Chatham Road reported someone called them to say they won a large sum of money, according to police. The caller told the resident not to tell any family members, police say. The resident became suspicious and called the police, and the caller ID only showed “out of area," according to the report.
That day, someone on the 1600 block of Glenview Road reported receiving two phone calls informing them they won a large sum of money and a vehicle, according to police. When the resident questioned the caller, the caller became hostile so the resident hung up, police say.
On Sept. 11, a resident on the 1600 block of Marie Lane reported receiving a phone call from someone pretending to be their grandson, according to police. The caller told them they needed $1,800.00 to be released from jail in the Dominican Republic, police say. The caller verified their grandson was fine and did not wire the money, according to the report.

Stolen Car
On Sept. 12, someone reported a car they were borrowing from a friend was stolen
while it was parked in a parking lot on the 1800 block of Patriot Boulevard, according to police. Reported loss is about $4,000.00.
Vehicular Burglary
On Sept. 13, at least five cars on the 700 block of Beaver Road were reported burglarized, according to police.
Residential Burglary
On Sept. 13, a resident on the 2100 block of Norwich Court reported a man approached them outside their home and claimed he was from the “Village” and needed to talk to them about rainwater, according to police. They were escorted into the backyard and it was discovered later that the home was entered by a second, unknown person and jewelry was taken, police say. Reported loss is about $650.00
Driving Under the Influence
On Sept. 13, Terry K. Huebner, 50, of Northbrook, was arrested on the 2500 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with DUI of alcohol and improper lane usage, according to police.
