Pride Signs Stolen At Church; Public Sewer Citation: Blotter

Sixteen "Glenview Pride" flags were taken from a church property; a man was cited for discharging in public sewers: Glenview Police Blotter.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

  • Susan D. Caldwell, 62, of the 700 block of Glenshire Road, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, disobeying a stop sign, and was arrested at 9:40 p.m. June 28 after a traffic accident in the 1500 block of Patriot Boulevard. She posted a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 4 in Skokie.
  • Todd A. Murphy, 51, of the 400 block of Lotus Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of drugs, speeding 15-20 mph over the posted limit, improper lane usage, following too closely, improper signal after a traffic stop on July 1 in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Murphy was released after posting his driver’s license and given a $1,000 bond. He was assigned a court date of Aug. 24.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Christian Schutz, 24, of the 9200 block of Oriole Avenue, Morton Grove, is accused of disorderly conduct, and was arrested at 11:41 a.m. July 1 for an incident on June 17 in the 1400 block of Sequoia Trail, Glenview. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of July 30 in Skokie.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO A PEACE OFFICER

Michael N. Stientjes, 26, of the 1000 block of Raleigh Road, Glenview, is accused of aggravated battery to a peace officer, and was arrested at 7:11 a.m. July 2 for an incident that occurred on June 23 at Glenbrook Hospital, 2100 block of Pfingsten Road. He was processed and taken to a bond hearing on July 2.

BATTERY

Josue Medina, 23, of the 300 block of Inverness Drive, Elgin, is accused of battery, and was arrested 9:29 a.m. July 3 after an investigation in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road, Glenview. He was released after a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 18.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • A Windsor Road resident reported at 2:11 p.m. June 29 receiving a fraudulent email from whom they thought was their boss on June 25. The resident purchased numerous gift cards thinking their boss was requesting it before realizing it was a scam. Total reported loss is $1,245.
  • A Des Plaines resident called police at 5:36 a.m. June 30 to report a friend stole a laptop from a hotel room they both had access to in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Total reported is $700.
  • A resident in the 900 block of Glenview Road reported at 9:58 a.m. June 30 numerous pieces of jewelry missing from their residence. Total reported loss is $850.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A representative from a church in the 1000 block of Elm Street called police at 8:42 a.m. July 1 to report someone pulled out of the ground 16 “Glenview Pride” signs. There was no damage to any of the signs.
  • A resident in the 900 block of Glenayre Drive reported at 9:57 a.m. July 3 seeing a male urinating on the chain link fence that separates their property line from the neighboring business.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Tower Drive reported at 1:53 p.m. July 1 a male stole a blue colored Apple iPhone 12 from the display area. Total reported loss is $799.99.
  • An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Capitol Drive called police at 2:31 p.m. July 3 to report that between 7:19 and 7:21 p.m. July 2 a male stole several bottles of alcohol. Estimated loss is $322.21.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A Hoffman Estates resident reported at 5:17 p.m. July 2 someone used a sharp object to scratch their vehicle while parked in the parking lot of a business in the 0-100 block of Waukegan Road. Estimated damage is $500.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

A resident in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 7:16 p.m. July 2 to report someone entered their parked vehicle and stole property and cash. Estimated loss is $2,000.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION

A 42-year-old Glenview resident was cited at 2:09 p.m. July 3 under Village Ordinance for prohibited discharges to public sewers following an investigation in the 2300 block of Greenfield Drive.
