Property Damage At Swenson Park; More Auto Parts Thefts: Blotter

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

- Justas Prasauskas, 30, of the 3700 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, is accused of driving under the influence, blood alcohol concentration level of .08, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following a traffic investigation at 7:15 p.m. May 3 at Willow and Sanders roads. He was released on bond with a court date set for June 14 in Skokie.
- Brian Olson, 35, of the 1300 block of Farmstead Lane, Boilingrook, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol concentration level over .08, and was arrested at 10:47 p.m. May 5 in the 2000 block of Tower Drive. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of May 28 in Skokie.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
Raul Olivares, 48, of the 700 block of Piper Lane, Prospect Heights, is accused of driving with no driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding, and was arrested at 10:37 p.m. May 6 in the 3500 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of June 14 in Skokie.

- A Carol Lane resident reported at 9:11 a.m. May 4 finding a credit card account opened in their name without permission. The credit company flagged the account as fraudulent and closed it. Reported loss is $479.62.
- A Grove Street resident called police at 10:43 a.m. May 6 to report being unable to log into his credit union account online. They called the credit union who told them the account had been compromised and they may have been the victim of aggravated identity theft.
FRAUD
A Shermer Road resident called police at 9:17 a.m. May 4 to report being involved in a computer take-over scam. Reported loss is $6,000.
THEFT
- Christopher House, 44, of the 400 block of Butterfield, Hoffman Estates, was cited at 11:12 a.m. May 4 a village ordinance for theft following an investigation in the 4300 block of Dipaolo Center.
- A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported at 2:15 p.m. May 4 the theft of delivered packages to the front foyer of his residential complex. Reported loss $240.
- A resident in the 1200 block of Hawthorne Lane called police at 4:43 p.m. May 7 to report theft of a catalytic converter from their vehicle, while the vehicle was parked, unoccupied, in the street. Reported loss is $800.
- A resident in the 1600 block of Elmdale Avenue called police at 7:10 a.m. May 7 to report someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked, unoccupied, in the driveway. Estimated loss is $300.
- A resident of the state of Washington reported at 11:14 a.m. May 7 someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked, unoccupied, in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue. Estimated loss is $300.
ARMED ROBBERY
Glenview police responded to an armed robbery at 5:33 p.m. May 5 in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The complainant told officers a male, whom they arranged to meet at the location to sell a dog, displayed a weapon and grabbed the dog from their arms. The male left in a black vehicle. No one was injured during the incident. The male was described as 18 years of age, wearing a black or blue jacket. The Glenview Police Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the armed robbery. Police believe this to be an isolated circumstance and no threat to the public exists. Read more here.
SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE
Juan Cruz, 34, of the 500 block of S Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of driving with a suspended driver's license, uninsured motor vehicle, loud muffler, following a traffic stop at 8:31 p.m. May 5 in the 2300 block of Patriot Boulevard. He was released on bond with a court date of May 28 in Skokie.
POSSESSION OF CANNABIS
Julia Campanini, 21, of the 6900 block of N Kilpatrick, Lincolnwood, and Ava Stevens, 18, of the 4000 block of Triumvera Drive, Glenview, were cited at 8:35 p.m. May 6 under village ordinance for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis, following an investigation at Sleepy Hollow Park, 1800 block of Maplewood Lane.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A resident reported at 9:33 p.m. May 7 damage to property at Swenson Park, 901 Shermer Road. Officers observed several pieces of park equipment relocated, damage to a roof and a broken soap dispenser in the bathroom. Estimated loss is $100.
