Rash Of Catalytic Converter Thefts Reported Around Town: Blotter
There were a series of reports regarding thefts at residences and businesses: Glenview Police Blotter.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Joseph Lovell, 44, of the 4300 block of N Clarendon Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, failure to reduce speed, and was arrested at 9:43 p.m. April 20 following a traffic crash investigation in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of May 10 in Skokie.

Raetonda White, 31, of the 5500 block of W Washington Avenue, Chicago, is accused of no valid driver's license, speeding, and was arrested at 8:51 p.m. April 27 in the 700 block of Waukegan Road. She was released on bond and assigned a court date of June 11 in Skokie.
WARRANT ARREST
Taylor Gardner, 24, of the 14300 block of Park Avenue, Harvey, is accused of having an outstanding warrant from the Cook County Sheriff's Office, and was arrested at 8:51 p.m. April 27 in the 700 block of Waukegan Road. She was held for a bond hearing.
INCIDENTS
INFORMATION FOR POLICE
A resident in the 3200 block of Brandess Drive reported at 4:33 p.m. April 20 that a cryptocurrency exchange did not arrive after receiving confirmation emails. An insurance claim was filed. No current reported loss.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A resident in the 3200 block of Sanders Road called police at 5:17 p.m. April 20 to report damage to their vehicle windshield as they drove in the area of East Lake Avenue and Shermer Road. The reported loss is $75.
THEFT
- A resident in the 2000 block of Ammer Ridge Court reported at 9:58 a.m. April 21 that during the overnight hours of April 21 someone removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle as it sat parked, unoccupied, in the parking lot at their residence. The reported loss of $1,000.
- A Park Ridge resident called police at 3:59 p.m. April 22 to report the theft of several pieces of furniture that were stored at a storage business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue and were to be moved out of state by a moving company. At some point during the move, time frame unknown, the furniture was stolen and not delivered. Reported loss is $10,975.
- An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 7:31 a.m. April 23 that during the overnight hours of April 23 someone stole the catalytic converter from a truck that was parked in the parking lot. Estimated loss is $1,800.
- A resident reported at 10:10 a.m. April 26 that on April 23 someone stole their bike from the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue. The reported loss is $550.
- An association manager in the 1700 block of Fielding Drive called police at 11:14 a.m. April 26 to report three "private property, no trespassing" signs were stolen. Reported loss is $300.
- A resident in the 1600 block of Longmeadow reported at 5:15 p.m. April 26 that their bike was stolen from the 1800 block of Tower Drive. Reported loss is $250.
ATTEMPTED RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 600 block of Beaver Road called police at 10:48 a.m. April 21 to report two men approached his home and asked them to walk to the back of their driveway to look at vehicles. The homeowner refused and the men left. No reported loss.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A resident in the 1800 block of Henley Street reported at 12:16 p.m. April 24 that during the overnight hours of April 24 someone egged their residence. No reported loss.
THEFT FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE
A resident called police at 10:40 a.m. April 24 to report that between midnight and 4 a.m., someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle which was parked in a parking lot of a business in the 3200 block of West Lake Avenue. Estimated loss is $300.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED PROPERTY
- An employee of the Glenview Park District reported at 9:31 p.m. April 24 damage to three window screens at Johns Park, 2101 Central Road. Estimated loss is $50.
- An employee of the Village of Glenview Public Works Department called police at 7:47 a.m. April 26 to report a fire extinguisher was sprayed and a fire extinguisher box was damaged in a stairwell in the 2000 block of Patriot Boulevard. Reported loss is $500.
