GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Lenward E. Hicks, 35, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is accused of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to dim headlights, and was arrested at 11:07 p.m. Feb. 28 in the 1500 block of West Lake Avenue. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of March 25 in Skokie.

Joseph Aragones, 32, of the 1800 block of Concord Drive, Glendale Heights, is accused of driving under the influence of drugs or combination of drugs, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, unsafe backing, and was arrested at 7:34 p.m. March 2 in the 2100 block of Landwehr Road. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of April 13 in Skokie.

INCIDENTS

ASSAULT

An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 2:19 p.m. Feb. 23 that two customers were involved in a verbal altercation over one of the customers not wearing a face covering.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Capital Drive called police at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 23 to report a retail theft that occurred at 10 a.m. Feb. 21. The person placed several items into a reusable bag and left the store without paying for them. Total loss is $263.83.
  • An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 5:37 p.m. Feb. 23 that a retail theft had occurred at 11:40 a.m. A person left the store without paying for three items. Total loss is $987.72.
  • An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road called police at 5:46 p.m. Feb. 23 to report a retail theft that had happened at 3:06 p.m. A man and a woman had placed numerous items in a duffle bag and left the store without paying for them. Total reported loss is $3,404.81.
  • An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 5:21 p.m. Feb. 24 that two males stole two Oral B waterpiks. Total reported loss is $301.79.

THEFT

  • A resident in the 2200 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 5:43 p.m. Feb. 23 they were notified by Amazon a package was delivered, but the package could not be located. Total loss is $29.
  • A resident in the 1900 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 3:11 p.m. Feb. 26 to report someone signed for and stole a package from her residence when it was delivered by UPS on Feb. 5. Total reported loss is $2,000.
  • A customer reported at 12:51 p.m. Feb. 27 that someone stole their cellular telephone while they were at a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road. Total reported loss is $700.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 2700 block of Karen Lane called police at 3:04 p.m. Feb. 24 to report a man approached them and said he was doing work on the water lines in the area. The man left in a red SUV after a short time of checking faucets in the basement. The man was described as white, 5-foot, 10 inches, medium build, wearing a mask, a baseball cap, and a safety vest. A short time later, the resident noticed someone went through the drawers in the bedroom. Jewelry was reported missing. Total reported loss is $10.

BATTERY

  • A citizen called police at 10:53 p.m. Feb. 24 to report seeing two people fighting in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Officers learned the two were involved in a traffic dispute. No complaints were signed.
  • A customer shopping at a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 9:39 p.m. Feb. 26 to report being spat on by another customer during a verbal altercation.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY

  • A driver for Lyft reported at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 26 picking up a passenger in the 1900 block of Central Road. The driver asked the passenger to put on a mask and the passenger refused. The driver told the passenger to exit the vehicle and the passenger spat on the driver.
  • Officers responded to the 1100 block of Waukegan Road at 10:55 p.m. Feb. 27 for a report of people fighting in the street. Officers spoke to five people who admitted to fighting over a disagreement at a business.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

An employee of a hotel in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 9:05 p.m. Feb. 27 to report being threatened for not renting a room to a former guest who violated hotel policies in the past.

TRESPASSING

An employee of a hotel in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 12:06 p.m. March 1 people were in a room that had not been rented. The hotel employee and officers made contact with two females inside the room who thought someone else paid for the room. They left peacefully after it was explained the room had not been rented out.
