Trustee Candidate Sidoti: It is inappropriate to move forward with proposed development given numerous deficiencies and safety concerns

I have spent the past two-plus years advocating for the residents of Glenview, asking for sensible and responsible development. This has allowed me to meet many neighbors and gain invaluable insight into our processes and village. I am proud of our efforts as a community and am particularly thrilled to see the passion we have as residents.
Now, as a Board of Trustee candidate for the Village of Glenview as well as a resident of the Willows neighborhood, I want to reiterate my position on the proposed zoning change and site plan related to the southwest corner of Willow and Pfingsten. The proposed zoning and site plan are simply too dense, causing an adverse impact on traffic distribution and safety. The plan is also inconsistent with every option for this site in the 2017 Village's Comprehensive Plan. Unless and until this developer solves the numerous issues identified by the community during previous public hearings and meetings, it would be inappropriate for this project to move forward as presented.
