Statement of Gina DeBoni- for Village of Glenview Trustee

Candidate Statement- Why I want to be a Village of Glenview Trustee

I want to be a Village of Glenview Trustee because I believe in giving back and serving our incredible community- a community that I love. There is a saying, “be the change you want to see in this world.” For me, that starts at home, locally in our incredible village. Loving our community is important, but not enough—I have a strong and broad skill set and the relevant experience, diversity of thought and geography, integrity and character, to add meaningful value to our Village Board and our community. I strongly believe that good government starts with people who are not only experienced but are also reflective of our community. This allows for diversity of thought and helps ensure that ALL voices are heard. If we are interested in changing the status quo, we must seek candidates who reflect our community.

My family and I live in Indian Ridge where I most recently served as the Homeowners’ Association Board President. I am proud to be a working mom of school-aged children. Our board will benefit from the perspective of a woman, of someone who has children in our school system, and someone who is actively engaged in the workforce. My character, passion and my professional experience are my greatest strengths. Residents can expect an unbiased and measured approach from me.

I have over 17 years of operational and business management experience. In 2020, I earned a Gold Stevie Award for executive leadership in a consumer-based business in the 0-2,500 employee category. My leadership style is one of inclusiveness, egos checked at the door, and rolling up my sleeves, doing the deep dive into any issue before me, and committing 110%. Further, as a lawyer and business manager, I have dedicated the better part of my career to broad issues relating to safety and have been recognized for my contributions in this arena. These are the attributes that I will bring as Trustee and would be honored to earn your vote.
