Teens Charged With Alcohol, Cannabis Possession
The information in this blotter was reported by Glenview Police between Monday, Jan. 13, and Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Glenview Police Department:
Teens Charged With Alcohol, Cannabis Possession
Three teenagers were issued citations in the 4600 block of West Lake Avenue at 10:27 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, according to police.
- Jeremy Laird, 19, of the 1200 block of Cashgrain in Detroit, was charged with possession of alcohol as a minor.
- Jacob Fox, 18, of the 900 block of King Richards Court in Deerfield, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Derrick Haley, 18, of the 1800 block of Blanchard Road in Gurnee, was charged with possession of cannabis.
Christopher Lee, 18, of the 200 block of Ravine Forest Drive in Lake Bluff, was issued a citation for possession of alcohol as a minor at 11:24 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in the 1700 block of Bluestem Lane, police reported.
Des Plaines Man Charged With Driving With a Revoked License
Umer Qamar, 20, of the 9000 block of Federal Court in Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at 10:42 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue, police reported.
Glenview Woman Charged With Driving With a Suspended License
Joan Asplund, 72, of the 1400 block of Plymouth Lane in Glenview, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, improper lane usage and failing to signal when required at 3:27 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road, according to police.
Burglar Steals Jewelry on Indian Ridge Drive
Someone broke into a home in the 2500 block of Indian Ridge Drive by prying open a rear door between 4:50 and 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, according to police. He or she stole an unknown amount of jewelry, police said.
Man Steals Merchandise, Drives Off
An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported seeing a man walk out of the store without paying for merchandise, accompanied by a woman and a toddler on Saturday, Jan. 11, according to police. When the employee asked the man to return to the store, he and the others got into a car and drove off west down Willow Road. The estimated loss is $300.
Angry Customer Flips the Bird, Calls Back to Yell Profanities
An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported that an angry customer had harassed the employee after he was not allowed to exchange merchandise he had previously purchased, according to the police. While he was leaving the store, the man stuck his middle finger up at the employee and yelled a profanity. About 30 minutes later, the man called the store, yelled a profanity three times, and then hung up. Police were unable to make contact with the angry customer.
Man Tails Driver After Near Car Accident
A complainant told police that a man driving a blue/green Honda SUV almost hit their car in the parking lot of a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard on Sunday, Jan. 12, according to police. The man followed the complainant out of the parking lot and pulled up next to the complainant at Patriot and Willow, and asked if the complainant "had a problem." The complainant said no and rolled up the window. The man then followed the complainant into Northbrook, at which point the complainant called 911. The complainant drove around and eventually stopped in a parking lot in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road, where they lost sight of the Honda.
Identity Thief Opens Four Fraudulent Cards
While conducting an online credit history check, a resident of Glenview learned that someone opened four credit cards in their name, according to police. The resident was able to cancel the cards without suffering any loss, police said.
