Teens Offer Cannabis to Stranger, Cited For Drug Offenses

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Glenview Police Department:
Teens Cited For Drug Offenses After Offering Cannabis to a Stranger
Four people were issued citations for drug offenses in the 2600 block of West Lake Avenue after they offered cannabis to someone at 9:04 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, police reported.
Andrew Schwiebert, 18, of the 7300 block of Palma Lane in Morton Grove, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Vitaliy Voznyuk, 19, of the 700 block of Cobblestone Circle in Glenview, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis. Matthew Gusik, 18, of the 1900 block of North Parkside Drive in Park Ridge, was cited for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis. Daniel Biel, 18, of the 3200 block of Crestwood Lane in Glenview, was cited for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis and possession of alcohol as a minor, according to police.
Chicago Man Cited for Cannabis Possession
Marius Mannix, 23, of the 2500 block of North Mango Avenue in Chicago, was issued a citation for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:32 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the 2700 block of Aviator Lane.
Thief Takes $13,000 in Gold Rings, Diamond Necklaces
A resident of the 1300 block of Bennington Court reported that someone stole $13,000 worth of gold rings and diamond necklaces from bedrooms in the home between Thursday, Oct. 31, and Tuesday, Nov. 5, police reported.
Suspicious Person Asks About Pumpkins
A resident of the 1900 block of Palmgren Drive reported that a man rang the doorbell, said he worked for the village and asked "if pumpkins they reported being destroyed had been cleaned up." The resident closed the door and called the village to confirm that someone was sent to their house, according to police. Village staff said no one was sent, however.
Deposit Bag With $1,100 Stolen on Shermer
A business owner in the 900 block of Shermer Road reported that someone stole a deposit bag off their desk with more than $1,100 between Nov. 1 and 2, according to police.
Wallet Stolen in Glenview, Found in Niles Garbage Can
An employee of a business in the 900 block of Shermer Road reported that someone stole their wallet from their pants pocket when they left it on the second floor of the business while changing into their work uniform Oct. 19, according to police. Niles Police found the wallet at a CVS in a garbage can on Nov. 6, after a witness saw someone throw it away, according to police.
Digital Camera Stolen From Business on Waukegan
Someone reported that their digital camera was stolen from the floor of their vehicle at a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road on Friday, Nov. 8, according to police. An employee later found the camera in a dumpster near the business, police said.
Customer's Check Bounces Twice
An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road stated that they sold $360.10 worth of merchandise to a customer who paid by check on Aug. 31, 2013, according to police. The check bounced, and the customer asked for more time to deposit money. When the employee went to deposit the check again on Oct. 23, the account was closed, according to police.
Green Van, Thieves Caught on Video Stealing Bikes
Two employees of a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported that someone stole their bicycles from the west parking lot the business at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 29, according to police. The incident was caught on video, which shows a green van and three people stealing the bikes. The estimated loss is $400.
