Myron C. Harvey, 56, of the 1100 block of Shermer Road, Glenview, is accused of having an active warrant from the Lake County Sheriff's Office for failure to appear, and was arrested at 3:55 a.m. June 5 in Glenview. He was released on a $20,000 bond and assigned a court date of June 22 in the Lake County Courthouse.

INCIDENTS

BATTERY

A resident in the 700 block of Waukegan Road reported at 4:29 p.m. May 31 being battered by a neighbor during an argument about an unleashed dog.

FORGERY

A Timbers Edge Lane resident called police at 4 p.m. June 1 to report sending a check in the mail for property taxes. The check appeared to have been intercepted in the mail process and cashed by an unknown person.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 6:06 p.m. June 1 the theft of a computer from the floor display. The offender exited the store and left the area in a silver car, bearing no registration. Reported loss is $1,099.97.
  • An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road called police at 5:04 p.m. June 7 to report a retail theft that happened on June 2. A female entered the store, filled the cart with items and exited the store with the cart, without paying for any of the items. Reported loss is $1,923.12.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

  • An employee of a business in the 2400 block of Sanders Road called police at 9:46 p.m. June 1 to report a disturbance with a customer. The customer became verbally abusive and kicked a sign in the parking lot. The customer was given trespass notice to the business and told not to return.
  • An employee of a business in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 11:46 p.m. June 1 a past known customer attempted to enter the business but was not allowed in. Officers spoke with the customer and gave them trespass notice to the business.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A resident in the 1700 block of Grove Street reported at 10:46 p.m. June 1 damage to a window by a ball thrown from outside the home. The homeowner did not see who threw the ball and could not locate anyone outside the home. Reported loss is $500.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

A resident in the 3900 block of Charlie Court called police at 5:57 a.m. June 2 to report a man, wearing a yellow safety vest, knocked on their home’s front door, told him he worked for the water company and would be working around the home. The resident told him they were calling police and the man fled the area.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 3100 block of Greenbriar Drive reported at 9:18 a.m. June 2, a man, wearing a yellow safety vest, knocked on their home’s front door, told them he worked for the water company and would be working around the home. The resident allowed the male to enter their home. The male walked around the home and left the residence, telling the homeowner he would return later to complete the repairs. While waiting for the male to return, the homeowner noticed jewelry and cash missing from a bedroom. Reported loss is $10,000.

TRESPASS WARNING

An employee at a business in the 2700 block of Old Willow Road reported at 4:03 p.m. June 2 a customer switching price tags on items for sale. Officers spoke with the customer and gave them trespass notice to the store.

THEFT

  • A shopper called police at 2:48 p.m. June 3 to report the theft of a wallet, which was placed in a shopping cart, as they shopped at a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road. Reported loss is $35.
  • An employee at a business in the 3300 block of West Lake Avenue reported at 11:23 a.m. June 5 that since the prior day, someone stole the spare tires and catalytic converters from two company vehicles. Reported loss is $950.
  • A Chicago resident reported on June 8 that between June 4 and June 7, someone stole several items from his vehicle, which he left in the custody of a business in the 200 block of Waukegan Road for repair. Reported loss is $200.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Greenwood Road resident reported at 9:57 a.m. June 4 being notified by a telephone provider their social security number was being used on another account.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive called police at 1:42 p.m. June 4 to report someone damaged their vehicle as the car sat parked in the parking lot. Reported loss is $2,000.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICES

A resident in the 1900 block of Chestnut Avenue reported at 2:12 p.m. June 5 receiving a call from a male claiming to be a Microsoft employee. The caller told the homeowner to purchase gift cards to clear up credit card issues. The homeowner followed the instructions and purchased the gift cards. Reported loss is $18,000.

CURFEW VIOLATION

A Glenview juvenile and a Winnetka juvenile were cited at 3:28 a.m. June 6 under village ordinance for curfew violation in the 400 block of Glenview Road.
