Village of Glenview Trustee Election Campaign Contributions--$1k+

Campaigns at their heart are run by $$$ contributions, while sweat equity is a powerful force...it is about getting the message out there!!

I truly enjoy political campaigns and more especially the data around them. Data is a powerful tool. The State for Illinois provides for powerful tools to elucidate campaign contribution sources. All of the information shared in this article is available through a publicly availabel database at the Illinois State Board of Elections website. Today, March 31, 2021, is the final day of the current filing period which runs January 1, 2021 to March 31, 2021. All reports during this quarter of 2021 are due to be filed with the State Board of Elections on April 15, 2021. Sadly, this is nine days AFTER the Illinois Municipal elections in 2021.

That said, knowing where the money is coming from often guides motives, interests and intentions. It also shows from who you are willing to accept contributions, which is not nothing.

For the Village of Glenview Trustee election I am focused on the Unite Glenview, Glenview Next and Glenview Firefighters Local 4186:

Glenview Firefighters Local 4186:

Note: Form D-1 Statement of Organization for the Committee was created and filed on March 1, 2021 with the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Line 3 of the form indicates Amount of Funds Available as of Creation Date: $10,000 but does not show in any filings the source of these funds, as required by Illinois Election law.

While I generally disagree with the United States Supreme Courts Citizen's United decision it is the law of the land.

Notice: In full disclosure, I made a contribution to the Unite Glenview fund in support of the current Trustee election.
