Virtual events are set for February to raise funds for new playgrounds.

Night of Chocolate Fundraiser Planned to Support the New Wescott School Playground!

Everyone is welcome to join the Wescott School PTO from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., on Friday, February 12, for a Night of Chocolate, which is being planned to help raise money for the brand new Wescott playground! One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the event will be used to build the new playground.
The fundraiser will feature a chocolate dessert class, "Chocolate 101", which will be taught virtually by renowned Chef Gale Gand. She will demonstrate two chocolate desserts, plus teach the history of chocolate, i.e., how it’s grown, harvested, and made into bars.

The class will last one to one-and-a-half hours. Recipes and a Zoom link will be sent out in advance, so residents can grocery shop, cook along, or just watch and learn.
Chef Gale Gand is a Chicago-based pastry chef, cookbook author, television personality, and winner of the 2001 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Gand was the host of the Food Network show Sweet Dreams. Gand is also a partner and was the founding Executive Pastry Chef at Tru, a contemporary fine-dining restaurant affiliated with Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises.
Willowbrook’s Winter Fundraiser for New Playground is Underway
Fundraising for Willowbrook School's new playground has begun!
Please help the Willowbrook Parent Teacher Organization promote their Winter Fundraiser. This fundraiser is being held in place of the annual parent social event.
Everyone is invited to purchase raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items. Sales and bidding began at 9 a.m., Monday, February 1.

Valentines For Vets
In addition to student Valentine’s, Sharon Latek has created an opportunity for our school communities to contribute Valentines to our Veteran neighbors in the Glen. Have you students create a Valentine for a Veteran during indoor recess! Leave completed cards or letters in the front office by 11 AM on Thursday, February 12. Please see the linked flyer with instructions on how your students can contribute.
