ARRESTS
OUTSTANDING WARRANT

Melissa Meenie, 53, of the 2300 block of Covert Road, Glenview, is accused of having an outstanding warrant out of Grundy County, and was arrested at 7:15 a.m. June 7. She was released on a $5,000 bond and assigned a court date of June 28 in Grundy County.

- Mihai M. Muresan, 44, of the 400 block of East Lincoln Street, Mount Prospect, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 9:38 p.m. June 8 in the 0-100 block of Waukegan Road. He posted a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of July 15 in Skokie.
- Amari G. Motley, 22, of the 1900 block of S Cicero Avenue, Cicero, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended, speeding, no insurance, expired registration, and was arrested at 3:20 a.m. June 13 in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT
Jhon E. Florian-Valencia, 34, of Maspeth, New York, is accused of having a warrant out of Glenview for aggravated identity theft, was arrested at noon June 12, and taken into custody at the Waukesha County Jail. Florian-Valencia is charged with three counts from an incident on Feb. 3. Bond was set at $50,000 for the Glenview warrant. Florian-Valencia was also held on a failure to appear warrant out of Will County. Bond on that one was set at $10,000.
- A resident in the 3200 block of Greenbriar Drive reported at 12:45 p.m. June 9 seeing a person standing by their vehicle which was parked in the driveway. The homeowner yelled at the person and they walked away.
- A resident in the 3200 block of Greenbriar Drive called police at 9:56 p.m. June 12 to report he saw a male carrying a duffle bag looking around the area. The resident confronted the unknown person and he took off running, last seen westbound on Harrison Street.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
An Ammer Ridge Court resident called police at 1:36 p.m. June 9 to report initiating contact with a computer repair company about a computer issue. Shortly thereafter, they received a phone call from someone stating they needed to purchase Nordstrom gift cards to fix the computer issue. The resident purchased the gift cards, transferred the identifying numbers to the person and realized it was a scam. Reported loss is $1,400.
TRESPASSING
An employee of a business in the 3900 block of Glenview Road reported at 2 p.m. June 9 a female was taking cigarettes butts from the exterior ashtray near the front entrance. Employees followed the female to a nearby home. Officers spoke with the female and gave her trespass notice to the business at the request of the business.
BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
A New York resident called police at 9:45 a.m. June 10 to report an iPhone 12 Pro Max stolen from the interior of their unlocked vehicle as it sat parked, unoccupied, at a business in the 1000 block of Harlem Avenue. Reported loss is $1,000.
THEFT
- A resident in the 1100 block of Prairie Lawn Road called police at 11:05 a.m. June 10 to report receiving a message to aid an orphanage by depositing a $500 check and sending $500 through Apple Pay. After depositing the check and sending the $500, they sent an additional $440 before realizing it is a scam. Reported loss is $940.
- A Chicago resident reported at 12:20 p.m. June 10 the theft of sunglasses from their vehicle while it was being serviced at a business in the 2000 block of Waukegan Road. Reported loss is $170.
- An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 11:30 a.m. June 11 to report a license plate missing from one of their vehicles. The vehicle was recently picked up from Chicago and it is unknown exactly when and where the theft took place.
- A resident in the 2100 block of Warwick Lane reported at 10:22 a.m. June 12 that someone stole a black 50-foot hose connector from the backyard. Reported loss is $20.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
A resident in the 3700 block of Knollwood Lane called police at 6:38 a.m. June 11 to report their vehicle was keyed. Reported loss is $200.
COMPUTER CRIME
A Depot Street resident reported at 3:04 p.m. June 11 they received an email implying they would be charged a fee for renewing service. The resident contacted a number for customer service and spoke with an unknown person. The person gained control of the resident’s computer and opened an internet browser with bank information. The resident shut down the computer and ended the call. No financial loss currently.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A resident in the 0-100 block of Washington Street called police at 10:38 a.m. June 12 to report a vehicle tire had a screw and a small slash cut which believed was caused by a knife. Reported loss is $250.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a business in the 3700 block of Willow Road reported at 4:56 p.m. June 14 three people entered the store, cut wires holding merchandise to the displays and fled the store. Reported loss is $4,060.
