1 Killed In Round Lake Beach Crash
A car collided with a traffic light pole in Round Lake Beach early Saturday. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — A 32-year-old Wauconda man was killed when he crashed his car into a traffic light pole on Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach early Saturday, authorities said. The single-vehicle collision occurred at 12:30 a.m. at Rollins Road and Hook Drive.
Authorities said a 2010 Chevy Camaro, driven by the Wauconda man, was traveling east on Rollins Road when it left the road, crossed a sidewalk and hit the pole. The man, whose identity is not yet being released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other occupants inside the car at the time of the crash, according to the news release.

An autopsy will be performed Tuesday, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
