Here's how many seat belt citations and other citations the Lake County Sheriff's office issued during the March 12 through March 18 period.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's office announced the results of the St. Patrick's Day traffic safety campaign, March 12 through March 18. The sheriff's office arrested three people for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, and issued 26 seatbelt citations, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. A total of 57 other citations were issued during the campaign, the sheriff's office added.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office joined with state and local law enforcement, in addition to highway safety partners during last month's St. Patrick’s Day campaign.

The law enforcement effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns, according to the news release.
