35-Year-Old Man Dead After Canoe Overturned in Lake County
The man was canoe fishing with his sons and a friend who were rescued by someone who was on shore when the canoe overturned.

At around 6 p.m., Sunday, a canoe that held Mirza Muzaffarov, a friend and his 10 and 11-year-old sons overturned while the group was canoe fishing on Wooster Lake. Witnesses managed to rescue the friend and the boys, but Muzaffarov drowned and his body was not recovered until 9:15 p.m., The Chicago Tribune is reporting. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:36 p.m.
“On Monday, Lake County Deputy Chief Coroner Orlando Portillo said the autopsy found Muzaffarov had drowned,” the Tribune reported. “Toxicology tests are pending.”
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported no one was wearing life preservers.

Muzaffarov is a resident of Chicago. He lives on the northwest side near the suburb of Norridge.
