4 Hurt In Crash At 'Horrible' Route 12 Spot In Wauconda

Facebook users are sounding off under Wauconda Police Department crash updates after 4 people were hurt in the route 12 car and semi crash.

WAUCONDA, IL — A Tuesday crash between Case and Bonner roads on Route 12 in Wauconda has residents asking, "Another?" Wauconda police said Tuesday night that Route 12 between the two roads was back open after being closed for a crash investigation. According to the Daily Herald, the crash involving a car and a semitrailer truck was reported at 9:18 p.m., and resulted in four people being sent to the hospital, police said.

Wauconda Fire Department first responders worked for more than 45 minutes to get those hurt out of the car, and victims were taken to local hospitals for injuries.

According to comments under crash updates posted on the Wauconda Police Department Facebook page, this stretch of Route 12 has many people concerned, while also not surprised that another vehicle crash took place in this area, or what one person called a "Horrible" spot.

"Hopefully the investigation shows something need to change," one person wrote, while another asked for a larger police presence on Route 12 due to people driving "so reckless and way too fast."
