Up to 4 Inches of Snow by Monday Morning in North and Northwest Suburbs
Expect a messy commute Monday.

The first snow of spring will bring 2 to 4 inches across McHenry and Lake counties, as well as northern Kane, DuPage and Cook counties, the National Weather Service reported late Sunday evening, with adverse conditions expected for the Monday-morning commute.
Between 1 and 2 inches will fall farther south by Monday morning.
The snow is expected to continue through Monday morning and possibly early afternoon but likely will become light rain as temperatures rise above freezing.

The next weather system will bring a chance of rain for most of the area through Tuesday afternoon. Rain will be likely Tuesday evening and through the overnight with the possibility of thunder.
Highs Monday in the mid-30s to low 40s. Highs Tuesday in the low to mid-40s.
