5 Grayslake-Area Restaurants Get Shout Out From Readers

Grayslake Patch Facebook followers shared their top picks for local restaurants they say have gone above and beyond in recent months.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — COVID has hit many local restaurants hard. And, even as more businesses start to reopen, many are continuing to weather the storm.

With that in mind, we asked readers over the weekend which local restaurants deserved a shout-out for their hard work. We received more than 20 responses, many from those who would like to see all restaurants recognized nationally. There were also several repeat votes.

There are five local restaurants that have caught the attention of residents who've said they've been impressed, according to the response we received.

Those businesses are:

  • BBQ'd Productions, 34121 N. U.S. Highway 45, Suite 1, Third Lake: Grayslake Patch Facebook follower Cory 'Bocik' Cameron said the owner has "done great work during this pandemic for frontline workers and first responders."   • The Vine, 101 Center St., Grayslake: Several Grayslake Patch readers have pointed to this business as a standout in the community during these tough times. Grayslake Patch Facebook reader Sarah Swank Mullen said the restaurant "went above and beyond and followed all the rules." The Vine has pick-up and delivery options available on its website.
  • Light the Lamp Brewery: For those interested in grabbing a beer or some food from Lamp the Light Brewery, you can find out more about the local business and view their menu on their Facebook page and website.
