91st Annual Lake County Fair: 2019 Guide

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The 91st Annual Lake County Fair kicks off Wednesday and will continue through Sunday. The fairgrounds are located at 1060 E. Peterson Road in Grayslake. The fair's hours of operation are 1o a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Cash, credit and debit cards are accepted at main gate ticket booths, and tickets can be purchased in advance on the fair website. General admission ticket prices are $10 for adults (13 and older), $5 for seniors (65 and older), $5 for children (6 to 12), and special prices for active military, veterans and families of active military or veterans. There is a service fee online for ticket purchases, and there are also "season" passes available for adults, seniors and children. Those prices can also be found on the fair website.

• MAIN GATE TICKET SALES: Open at 8:00 a.m. daily
• LIVESTOCK BARN HOURS: Open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday and open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday
• EXPO HALL HOURS: Open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday and open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday
• MIDWAY RIDES AND GAMES: Open at Noon daily

• All-You-Can-Ride Wristband Special (only valid at the following times): $20 on Wednesday — 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday — 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday — 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• (New)! — Taste of the Fair: Wednesday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; $3 a sample
• Talent Competition (Jr. and Sr.): Jr. is 2 p.m. Sunday, and Sr. is 4 p.m. Sunday (spots still open for Sr. competition).

Parking:

• Free: Parking is free in the grass lot — (Enter the fairgrounds from Midlothian Road, follow the signs to stay right for the free parking lot).
• Preferred: $10 a day — cash only! No re-entry. (Enter the fairgrounds from Midlothian Road, follow the signs to stay left for the Preferred Parking lot.
• Complimentary accessible parking for vehicles with DMV disability parking placards or license plates: First-come, first-served in the preferred lot.

Free shuttle bus:

• Round-trip rides from the Prairie Crossing Metra station to the Main gate during these hours: 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
