Amid Closings, 2 Family Video Stores In Lake Co. Will Stay Open

The Grayslake Family Video is set to close but the Round Lake Heights location will remain open.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Even in the age of Netflix and the ease at which one can rent a movie from home, Family Video has managed to stay afloat even when Blockbuster could not. But as the pandemic destroyed the economy, the nationwide chain headquartered in Glenview announced recently that it would close 200 stores, including several located across the Chicago area.

Among the stores that will be shuttered are the Family Video in Grayslake, Antioch, and Mundelein. But two other stores, including the Zion and Round Lake Heights locations, will remain open.
