Under the leadership of the organization’s Director Michael Pimpo, PLAN was founded in June of 2007 and is run entirely by local resident volunteers who choose to help others in need. Volunteers for the organization range from retired military personnel, adult volunteers and local students, many from area churches. PLAN provides extremely efficient services to those in need five days a week. For example, each dollar donated to PLAN purchases 9 pounds of food through the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

“Many of us are so consumed by our daily routine, we tend to overlook the needs of those less fortunate then ourselves.” said Sean Rathjen, CCU President. “PLAN is a vital part of our community, providing goods and services to families in the surrounding area. It’s comforting to know there are organizations such as PLAN willing to lend a hand to those in need as the economy continues to struggle. CCU is both proud and excited to support their outstanding efforts.”
