College of Lake County's Annual Plant Sale is This Week

Proceeds help support CLC horticulture student scholarships, internships and program enhancements.

LAKE COUNTY, IL - The Horticulture department at the College of Lake County will hold its annual plant sale fundraiser on Thursday, May 4 and Friday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the horticulture greenhouse, which is located in building H near the Brae Loch Road entrance to the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St. Proceeds help support CLC horticulture student scholarships, internships and program enhancements. The plants were grown by CLC students and staff, according to a news release.

Sowing seeds and propagating plants to prepare for the sale began last fall. Purchasers may choose from herbs, annuals, perennials and hanging baskets of flowers as well as vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, tomatoes and squash, according to a news release.

A wide variety of native perennials are also available.A complete list of the plants on sale is available on the College of Lake County Horticulture Department page.
