Cooling Centers Across Lake County For Summer 2019

Dangerous heat is expected across the area in the next several days, reports said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's Office is advising residents of the dangerously hot conditions expected this week across the area.

A Heat Advisory is underway in Grayslake and the area until 11 p.m. Friday.

The sheriff's office encourages those without access to air condition to consider going to a local cooling center:

Governor JB Pritzker is carrying out his Keep Cool Illinois campaign by making more than 120 state facilities available as cooling centers to provide Illinoisans a place to stay cool and comfortable during the season's hot days.

Tollway Oasis locations are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Department of Human Services cooling centers are open during normal business hours from 8:30 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to the Governor's Keel Cool Illinois website.

We are expecting dangerously hot conditions over the next few days. If you don't have access to air conditioning, you may consider going to a cooling center.
