Evanston Man Hurt After Car Rear-Ends Semi In Gurnee
According to Gurnee police, a Buick rear-ended a semi-truck Sunday as it came to the intersection at Route 41 and Route 21 in Gurnee.
GURNEE, IL — Gurnee police are investigating a Sunday crash involving a semi-truck and a 2015 Buick sedan with heavy damage in the Route 41 and Route 21 intersection. According to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department, police were called to the intersection at 8:40 p.m. for the crash between the semi and car during which a 26-year-old Evanston man was critically injured. Early investigation shows the Buick, driven by the young man, rear-ended the semi as it came to the intersection of northbound Route 41 and Route 21, according to police.
The man was the only one inside the car, and was taken to a nearby hospital by Gurnee Fire Department crews for treatment, police said, adding that the driver of the semi wasn't injured during the crash.
Investigators with the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) were also at the crash site and helped with the investigation, according to the news release.
