First Snowfall In Grayslake: How Much Is Expected?
Between .5 and 2.5 inches is expected, depending on where you live in the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.
GRAYSLAKE, IL — It looks like the Grayslake area will be spared from the heaviest snowfall expected early Tuesday. Between .5 and 2.5 inches is expected in different portions of the Chicago area during this initial snowfall, with Grayslake likely to see snowfall on the lower end of that range.
The heaviest snow is expected north of Interstate 80 and along and west of Interstate 355 mainly between 3 and 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
As for Grayslake, snow is likely after 3 a.m. Tuesday with a 70 percent chance for precipitation. New snow accumulation of less than half-inch is expected Monday night and around an inch of snow is expected between 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

A mix of snow is expected between 9 a.m. and noon, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind gusts as high as 25 mph are in the forecast and there will be a high of 41 degrees so any snow Grayslake could get may not stay.
Meanwhile, other towns, including suburbs in much of McHenry County and northwest Kane County, could see heavier snow starting early Tuesday, which could lead to light accumulation on roads. Visibility may drop off periodically Tuesday morning and temps will be between 32 and 35 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
