Fox Lake Store Sells Winning $200K Lucky Day Lotto Ticket

FOX LAKE, IL — If you recently bought a Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Thorntons gas station at 11 N. U.S. Highway 12 in Fox Lake, the Illinois Lottery urges you to check it right now. According to a news release from the Illinois Lottery, this Thorntons location is where a $200,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket was sold before its numbers were drawn Wednesday evening, Jan. 8. The winning ticket matched all five numbers — 12 - 15 - 21 - 26 - 34 — to win the jackpot. The retailer will receive a bonus of $2,000, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket, according to the Illinois Lottery.

The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the Lottery's five Prize Centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.

More than 15,600 other prizes, ranging from $1 to $200, were won in this Lucky Day Lotto drawing. In all, players won more than $238,800, in this drawing. Lucky Day Lotto drawings are twice a day, seven days a week.
