Friendly Face at Lambs Farm Died During Sunday Run
Funeral service for Martin Buckley Sr. of Grayslake will take place on Friday.
The people of Lambs Farm in Libertyville and St. Gilbert Catholic Church and School are in mourning today for a friend, mentor and colleague who died suddenly while running on Sunday. Martin J. “Marty” Buckley Sr., 63, who’d spent four decades in human services, worked at Lambs Farm as director of programming for the last 15 years. He also served as Eucharistic minister at the church. His wife of 21 years, Kristine, told the Daily Herald he had run in 20 marathons.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home, 111 W. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. On Friday, visitation begins at 10 a.m. at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, with Mass at 11 a.m.
