Graysake Central Boys Cross-Country Team Wins State Championship
The girls Grayslake Central team came in ninth place at state.

The Grayslake boys cross-country team won the Class 2A state championship over the weekend in Peoria.
The team was lead by junior Jack Aho who won the race with a time of 14:25, which is a 4:48.1-per-mile pace. His brother Matt Aho wasn’t far behind, placing seventh overall and coming in as the second fastest runner for Grayslake Central team with a time of 14:42, according to the Daily Herald.

Other runners competing on the state team included: John Girmscheid (14th place), Eli Minsky (16th place), Jack Battaglia (17th place), Danny Vincent (36th place) and Alden Aaberg (80th place).
Meanwhile, the Grayslake Central girls team also made an appearance at the state meet, placing in ninth place. The team consisted of Megan Girmscheid (30th place), Lura Quandt (42nd place), Elizabeth Aho (61st place), Umaiyal Sridas (79th place), Sara O’Malley (86th place), Greta Ruhlmann (97th place) and Riley Acthemeier (116th place).
