Grayslake Among Best IL Cities For Families: Study

GRAYSLAKE, IL — Grayslake has made the list of Illinois' best cities to raise a family, according to a recent study by WalletHub.

Grayslake did well on the list, coming in a respectable No. 24. Much of the northwest suburbs made the list, which is based on a number of factors like playgrounds per capita, attractions, median family income, affordable housing, crime rates and many others.

These factors are among 21 that WalletHub researchers used to compile the data, all organized into four major dimensions: 1) family life and fun, 2) education, health and safety, 3) affordability and 4) socio-economics. The rankings included 222 of Illinois' 1,299 municipalities.

Among the list, Grayslake did fairly well in all four dimensions. The best score was in education, health and safety, which put Grayslake in No. 25. It also did quite well in affordability, coming in No. 30.
