Grayslake Aquatic Center On Track To Open This Summer
Grayslake Mayor Rhett Taylor said the pool will open at 50% capacity if COVID-19 infections remain low, vaccine distribution continues.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — The Grayslake Family Aquatic Center will be opening this summer, Mayor Rhett Taylor announced at a recent village board meeting.
The aquatic center, located at 250 Library Lane, will operate at half capacity and is on track to open on time, Taylor said during the Tuesday meeting. The aquatic center will operate within guidelines set up by Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the state of Illinois Public Health Department.
The village of Grayslake has seen a 38 percent decrease in coronavirus infections in the last two weeks, said Taylor, citing information obtained from the Lake County Health Department for Grayslake's zip code. The aquatic center will open only if coronavirus infections continue to decline and vaccinations continue to be doled out.

"Hopefully, we will be to proceed into the summer in a more normal fashion than we were able to last summer, but the caveat is that we don't see changes made in defeating the pandemic," Taylor said.
More information on the Grayslake Aquatic Center can be found on the village of Grayslake's website.
